UNC Charlotte Motorsports Engineering

Description

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located within 50 miles from 90% of the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams, and only 5 miles from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. NASCAR isn't the only kind of race teams in Charlotte though, there are many TUDOR United SportsCar Championship teams, NHRA Drag Racing teams, IZOD IndyCar teams and even AMA Supercross teams. UNC Charlotte has a Mechanical Engineering program with a concentration in Motorsports. UNC Charlotte Motorsports Engineering students earn a regualr Mechanical Engineering degree, but focus their electives in the motorsports area. The UNC Charlotte Motorsports Engineering program also involves a hands-on approach. This compliments the student's classroom learning experience, and broadens their knowledge base.
